SotaConnect SDSL
SotaConnect SDSL is a very low cost, high performance, Internet connection equivalent to leased line access, such as SotaConnect NetStream. The service provides up to 2Mbps of synchronous bandwidth, but is only available to locations sharing the same BT telephone exchange as the SotaConnect PoP.
SotaConnect SDSL is ideal for businesses requiring superior performance to ADSL, but unable to justify the full cost of leased line connectivity. The service provides very lightly contended Internet bandwidth, but the performance bottleneck of ADSL is eliminated because contention is reduced by at least 50%, and upload bandwidth is increased by up 800%.
SotaConnect SDSL is the only SDSL service currently available in the Sittingbourne area. It is a unique service provided at a unique price. Although BT SDSL is available elsewhere in the UK, the roll-out is limited and slow, and it is possible that BT SDSL services will never be activated in many areas.
