Bandwidth
SotaConnect SDSL provides maximum bandwidth of up to 2Mbps. Internet content is only lightly contended, with a contention ratio of no more than 10:1, so performance is not significantly compromised. However, SotaConnect SDSL is fully synchronous, providing equal upload and download bandwidth at all times, and giving a critical performance boost over ADSL.

Bearer
Synchronous Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) technology enables a relatively inexpensive subscriber unit to convert ordinary copper telephone cable into the equivalent of a high-speed leased line with fully synchronous bandwidth.

SotaConnect SDSL uses a service available from BT, which provides either one or two pairs of copper between two locations served by the same telephone exchange. The circuit is known as an EPS9 (single pair) or EPS8 (dual pair).

One problem with SDSL technology is that the available bandwidth reduces with distance. However, SotaConnect SDSL combines an EPS8 circuit with loop-bonding technology, providing up to 2Mbps, providing the total distance between the SotaConnect PoP and the customer site via the BT exchange is less than 4 miles.

Installation
SotaConnect SDSL is provided with a SDSL subscriber unit which provides RJ45/Ethernet presentation.

IP Addresses
An IP allocation of 4 or 8 IP addresses is provided with SotaConnect SDSL.

Support
SotaConnect SDSL is provided with high quality technical support. Any technical problems arising from use of the service receive a quick and efficient response from the highly qualified and experienced SotaConnect technical support team. Support incidents which cannot be resolved by telephone, e-mail or fax, may be escalated to an engineer site visit.

Pricing
Pricing comprises a Set-up Fee and Monthly Charge for the SotaConnect SDSL service, plus charges which are directly charged by BT.
