SotaConnect FRIACO
SotaConnect FRIACO (Flat Rate Internet Access Call Origination) provides cost-effective, unmetered dial-up Internet access, which can significantly reduce the cost of Internet access when compared to standard 0845 access. The service is simple and effective and can be activated within 24 hours. A monthly or annual subscription payment is made, and after that no further call charges apply for Internet calls made.
The Always-On option is an ideal solution for users with moderate to high Internet usage who are out of range of the nearest Broadband-enabled BT exchange. Lower cost options with on-line time limits are also available for both businesses and home workers.
SotaConnect FRIACO is suitable for either single-user or small network environments.
Bandwidth
SotaConnect FRIACO bandwidth, or connection speed, is up to 64Kbps on ISDN circuits, and up to 56Kbps on analogue lines.
Contention
For all options, except Always-on, there is moderate port contention, which means that subscribers may compete for a limited number of dial-in ports. At busy times it is possible that no ports will be available, and the dial-up retries will be required. A lower port contention ratio will reduce the risk of ports being unavailable.
Bearer
SotaConnect FRIACO requires either a BT direct exchange line, BT Highway or ISDN2e circuit. It is also compatible with either analogue or digital (So-Bus) extensions from a telephone switch or PABX.
Activation
SotaConnect FRIACO can be activated on an existing line usually within 24 hours. All that is required is the number of the line to be activated, or CLI number. If a new line is required, an order can be processed quickly at the SotaConnect Voice Order Point.
There is no charge for activation. Activation details are provided so that the dial-up service can be quickly and easily configured using either a standard analogue modem, ISDN terminal adaptor, or ISDN router (not supplied).
IP Addressing
SotaConnect FRIACO is provided with dynamic IP addressing or a single static IP address.
Support
SotaConnect FRIACO is provided with high quality technical. Any technical problems arising from use of the service receive a quick and efficient response from the highly qualified and experienced SotaConnect technical support team. SotaConnect FRIACO is primarily a business service, which means that the quality of service is exceptionally high, compared to ISP’s focused on the consumer market.
